It's been awhile since i posted.. been quite busy.. but hopefully soon things will slow down
My dad talked to a pastor in the PNW today about some family of his that lives in Mississippi...
His Neice's husband's parents (which so happens Alicia was in my youth group and good friend when i lived in Alabama)
They got a call from them when the Hurricane was first projected to hit New Orleans area.. and this couple lived in Bay st Lois..
They were not going to leave.. SO they stayed at there house... the family called one day at the water was coming into the house.. so they moved to the second level in the house.. as the water continued to rise... then they moved to the roof.. as the water rised even more... as this couple swam across to a tree along side their house and help on basically for dear life for six hours.. (at this time the family had not heard anything for several days... and figured they had died in the hurricane)
as the storm calmed down.. They jumped from debri to debri across the massive water.. until they reached land *where is was stable to walk* and found a shelter in a local church...
This story to me is amazin... I know there's hundereds of people in the Miss/LA/AL Gulf coast that were not this lucky..
The last report we got .. was there's 22 churches. (Church of God). in LA that are either totally destroyed or has damage
I know lots of people are wanting to help.. but.. remember there's can be months down the road when they will need the help even more...
Esp since the hurricane insurance in these states are terrible.. i think the dectibuble is 10% of the apprisal of the church/building..
This really hit home to me.. since i lived in the gulf coast of Alabama for 10 Years... Lived about 20 miles from Mobile.. and they had alot of flooding..
Keep all these people in your prayers.. and not just this week and next week.. but always!
